Dear all,
I would like to inform you that French teachers at all levels can now access the IF cinema platform of the Institut Français. More than 300 royalty free films are available (fiction films, feature and short films, films recently released, cultural heritage films and films for young audiences) along with over 50 educational kits.
The main purpose of IF Cinema is to allow your students to discover the French cinema. To do so, you could organise a "ciné-club (weekly or monthly screening), organise screenings during events devoted to the French language or simply by watching it in class and making an instructional sequence.
If you are interested in accessing the platform, please make sure to read the terms and conditions (PDF 385Kb).
To download the films, please register on the Institut Français website and fill in this registration form (PDF 115Kb) and send it back to .
For further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Christopher

Dear all,
In the interest of supporting continuing professional development for post-primary teachers of French, the Department of Education and Science and the Cultural Service of the French Embassy offer a number of scholarships each year to attend a two week in-service course in summer in France. The in-service course offered will enable teachers to upskill themselves both linguistically and pedagogically in addition to giving them the opportunity to participate in French cultural activities. The institute selected for the professional scholarship is the Cavillam-Alliance Française in Vichy, one of the best Institutes in France and the world.
For further information, teachers can contact me or visit the French Embassy's website:

Each year, IFI Education, in collaboration with the Cultural Service of the French Embassy, selects a French film, programmes screenings for second-level students in IFI and venues around the country and creates an accompanying study guide. So far this school year, 1,338 students have watched Intouchables at IFI and a further 2,629 attended regional screenings.
This year we want you to tell us how you use our study guides, which activities you would like to see more or less off and suggest ways we can develop these guides.
Your feedback as language teachers is really important to help us continue with this project.
You can complete our short survey and download the Intouchables study guide online at www.ifi.ie/studyguides.
